(Reuters) – Thirty-three passengers were injured, at least four of them seriously, when their high-speed train collided with an empty car at a station near Philadelphia early on Tuesday, local media reported.

The train hit the stationary car at the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby, 10 miles west of Philadelphia, just after midnight, a CBS television affiliate reported, citing Upper Darby Mayor Thomas Micozzie.

“My face hit the wall, put a big hole in the wall and I went straight down and I blacked out,” a passenger told NBC 10.

“There was blood everywhere. The driver is all banged up and there was this one girl bleeding out of her face pretty bad.”

Micozzie said the conductor on the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority train was also injured.

Four people were in a critical condition, NBC 10 reported without going into details.

Train and local officials were not immediately available for comment.
