Flood disaster in North Yemen

(Afp) OZGE YILDIRIM – Five women and two children died after heavy rains and floods in the northern governorates. The United Nations said that sudden flooding in Yemen this month resulted in the death of at least seven people and 85 others were injured. According to preliminary information, the lifeless body of seven people was reached in the flood. In addition, it was announced that eighty-five people were injured.

It was reported that the capital and the districts in the same governorship were also badly affected by the flood. The country announced its first Covid-19 incident on April 10.

It was reported that the country’s health infrastructure collapsed after the conflict between aid agencies, the government, and Houthi rebels, and was not equipped to tackle the crisis and the current epidemic. The war that lasted for about six years, repeated bombs and ground wars destroyed more than half of the health facilities or caused them to shut down.
