(credits: Guardia di Finanza) PIACENZA – For the first time in the history of Italy, a Carabinieri barracks in Piacenza was seized and at least seven soldiers were arrested, some in prison and others under house arrest. It is the sensational result of an investigation opened by the prosecutor of the Emilian city and which wants to shed light on facts committed starting from 2017.

“I find it hard to define these subjects as carabinieri, because theirs were criminal behaviors. There was nothing in that lawful barracks.” These are the words that the head of the Prosecutor of Piacenza, Grazia Pradella, used in introducing the long press conference on the investigation for drugs, torture and extortion that this morning led to the arrest of seven carabinieri and the closure and kidnapping of a barracks of the Arma in the center of Piacenza.
